The Sony Portable Reader
Sony has launched Sony Reader featuring the new e-paper technology, which makes reading from the device gentle on the eyes.
Imagine this - having your an 80 book library in your pocket using a devise the size of a pocketbook. Electronic paper which is easy on the eyes and lets you view the screen from any angle. Increase the text size to fit your personal preference. Turn up to 7.500 pages on a single charged battery. And if 80 books aren´t enough, just replace the memory stick and you could be carrying around several hundred books, Adobe PDF of Microsoft Word documents, blogs, newsfeed or JPEG images with the same amazing readability.
It is all a reality with Sony Reader, Sony´s new handheld ebook reader. It can also handle audio books, just transfer your AAC or mp3 audio files and plug in optional earplugs and you are off...
Unfortunately, the device is so far only sold in the US and in Japan. There is no indication when this product will become available in Europe. Another big minus is that the Sony Connect ebooks system is only compatible with Windows XP and Vista and not compatible with Apple Macintosh at all.
Sony Reader retails in the US for US$ 349.99. For more details visit Sony Learning Center.
